The Young Offender Re-entry Program
The Young Offender Re-entry Program offers persons (18-24) with a history of
substance abuse a chance to rebuild their lives before and after leaving
jail.
We link clients to free outpatient, intensive outpatient, or residential
drug and alcohol treatment. We can also help with the legal aspects of
release—plus referrals and case-management around food, housing,
transportation, clothing, healthcare referrals, adult education, GED, or
getting a job.
The program works with those serving a sentence in the Essex County
House of Corrections or Massachusetts State Prisons. Post-release
services are for those living in Essex County, Massachusetts. With
probation and parole officers, we help clients (including but not
limited to those with mental illness and substance abuse issues) to
adjust to their new life.
The program has four distinct phases, including aftercare. This program
is made possible through a grant from the U.S. Department of Health &
Human Services.
